I have been working at Charles Schwab full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Schwab is a fantastic company to work for! The benefits are amazing and the people are awesome! They are very understanding of family and medical needs and try to be helpful in whatever way you can. They have amazing paid parental leave and great opportunities for moving around within the company.

    Cons

The jobs are not hard, it's just that it is a call center and that can be emotionally and mentally taxing.

    Advice to Management

Keep working on improving the systems and listening to those on the front lines.

I worked at Charles Schwab full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great place to work. They are always trying to improve their process and work with each employee. My time with them was pleasant.

    Cons

I have nothing to say on that. Managers come and go. Each manager has their own way of managing which can be a little difficult at times. But you get used to it.

I worked at Charles Schwab for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - The name "Charles Schwab" is the best part, people are impressed just by that - even if they don't know what you do there. - The facilities you physically work in are nice, in Lone Tree the campus is new so everything's in great shape - though bear in mind you will likely be in a 5'x 5' cubicle. - The "Kool-Aid" is great, when you first join you feel like you're working for the best company ever. - Fellow... employees are, for the most part nice, it's hard to really get to know anyone because they push you to be productive like 95% of the time (there are even stats to measure it for you) so having genuine conversations is challenging. - If you're into investing they give good employee benefits specifically for that, if you're not...well, there's nice legal services available.

    Cons

    - It should be clarified that these are two separate companies, so be sure you know if you're working for Charles Schwab (brokerage) or Charles Schwab Bank (banking) - The pay is a) below the industry average and b) not proportional to the cost of living increases - You will like be working in a glorified call center. - Heavily restricted cafeteria hours, even though MANY employees work non-traditional hours.... - Moving up (or really at all, even laterally) is difficult, particularly if you start in Charles Schwab Bank - lets say you want to be licensed, you have to study on your own time (compared to the month an unlicensed broker is given to study off the phone) and then IF you pass the first time you get a $2,000.00 salary increase, even though an unlicensed broker likely already makes $6,000.00 more than you off the bat. - This will become one of the most repetitive jobs you'll ever have, luckily you don't have to read from a script - but you do have many of the same conversations in one given day.

    Advice to Management

Value your bank employees but like actually, don't just say you do, pay them a fair livable wage. Be up front about the fact that the employee you're highing will be living/working in a call center.

Company maintains a strong commitment to doing business ethically with a high degree of integrity. Benefits are very good. Work environment is positive and management is generally good. If you live to help people you will love working for Schwab.

    Cons

If you live to make money, you may want to look elsewhere. Compensation is relatively low and advancement can be limited depending on your role and location.
