I worked at Charter Communications full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great pay, awesome benefits for the most part the coworkers are pretty awesome too.

    Cons

Watch your back- Worked here for 15 years in the plant maintenance department- I was a GOOD , loyal hardworking employee -Didn’t call in sick, actually worked my hours. 15 years of above average yearly reviews. NOT one bad review. Came in to work one day and I was told I’m being moved to the new build department. More or less, I became quickly overwhelmed and I struggled and struggled- I just couldn’t do it no matter how hard I tried. Worked from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm including weekends. I hid ALL my overtime because I didn’t want my Supervisors to know I wasn’t getting it. After 6 months of this I got my manager and my supervisor together to tell them I should probably submit my resignation because I was failing in my new department and they told me I was doing a fine job. Three weeks later they fired me. I feel that I was set to fail from the get go.

    Advice to Management

Just want to thank them for destroying my life. Several years gone by sense my departure and it’s been hard to to find work with a repeatable company with the word “FIRED” on my job application.

I worked at Charter Communications (More than a year)

    Pros

If you crave growth in your skill sets, or customer service, definitely work here. The leadership teams are very hands on, and want you to succeed. They push you to grow in a safe environment, where it is always okay to ask questions, and learn new techniques. You are fairly compensated for your time, and have great benefits.

    Cons

You may not always work the schedule you want, and it can be difficult to find / swap for a schedule that fits your needs. It's best to make sure at interview, that you specify the hours they are hiring for at the time. (Call Center)

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. You hired us because we are promising, and reflect the companies' interest. If we tell you what we need, heed our words.

    Pros

    Free services, decent benefits.

    Cons

Too much micromanagement, middle managers are poorly trained, leadership seems out of touch with customers & employees, customers are cutting TV and phone services like a major hemorrhage, continually lowering commissions. No longer a fun place to work. place to work.

    Advice to Management

Leadership and management are out of touch with customers and employees!

I worked at Charter Communications full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay was pretty decent. They were very hands on when training and they wanted you to succeed. Tried to be there as much as possible to help WHENEVER you needed. Just about everyone who works for this company is pretty intelligent.

    Cons

Scheduling is pretty much locked in stone unless you have seniority. You must work holidays and they are VERY adamant about attendance. Repeating the same thing to customers can become VERY redundant. Getting cursed out about things that aren't even remotely in your control can become extremely frustrating.. even for people who have lots of patience.

    Advice to Management

Pay better attention to what's going on on new trainees' calls.

I worked at Charter Communications full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great Benefits, Co-workers, out of foot print tv app access.

    Cons

We are all consumers and have our personal reasons why we don't want to pay the current rates for services, based on level of service, technical issues, etc. Try handling inbound calls from those customers on a daily basis, can be extremely rough.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to be more accountable for their actions.

I worked at Charter Communications full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Co-workers were awesome, had majority of holidays off with pay and if we did work on holidays we would have a pot luck, activities to do on break and Jean day.

    Cons

No one was ever on the same page because of constant changes , management always played favoritism and would always try to save their butt and throw the employee under the bus even if the management directed the action or even did the wrong doing on a account.

    Advice to Management

You guys need to show a little more compassion about your employees lives. Especially the ones that put in work for your corporation to be successful.
