I have been working at Chevron full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Stable company with overall good vision

    Cons

Company has changed significantly during latest growth and now downturn. Mgmt has become poor and self protected

    Advice to Management

Retire, many of you are protecting your own (seen in last lay-offs), and clearly don't care about future of the company

    I worked at Chevron

    Pros

Great working culture. Highly skilled workforce means there's always learning to be done if you're confident enough to ask for it.

    Cons

Very competitive to get in so you'll need to be at your best when you're there. Lots of highly technical guys there, bit of an age gap below that

    Advice to Management

    Upskill the early/mid-career talent

    I worked at Chevron

    Pros

Compensation and benefits, ability to work with some really intelligent people. 9 day fortnight in office. Systems are okay could be better.

    Cons

Different rules for different people. I never worked in a support function where the majority of the HR Personnel have never before worked for an oil and gas contractor before working for an oil and gas major, they all got jobs through there friends from unrelated industries or where hired by their mates.

    Advice to Management

Stop rewarding those with the gift of the gab but rather reward the workhorses. Try continue to stay engaged with your workforce especially during these uncertain times.
