    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Chevron full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good Travel opportunities and big opportunities to gain experience on mega projects.

    Cons

Decision making can be very slow with a lot of bureaucracy and committee type decision making. Also Fixed Term Contract uncertainty causes personnel to focus on job retention rather than doing their job.

    I worked at Chevron

    Pros

Compensation and benefits, ability to work with some really intelligent people. 9 day fortnight in office. Systems are okay could be better.

    Cons

Different rules for different people. I never worked in a support function where the majority of the HR Personnel have never before worked for an oil and gas contractor before working for an oil and gas major, they all got jobs through there friends from unrelated industries or where hired by their mates.

    Advice to Management

Stop rewarding those with the gift of the gab but rather reward the workhorses. Try continue to stay engaged with your workforce especially during these uncertain times.

I worked at Chevron for more than 5 years

    Pros

Excellent salary and option to work a nine day fortnight is excellent. Good education opportunities as the company will usually fund further studies.

    Cons

Over the last few years the 'care and concern' you felt from the company diminished and now employees are treated more like a number.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees with respect and dignity and they will look after you. Listen and promote your employees with experience
