I have been working at Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Very good attitudes. No office politics. No drama. Good support. Good environment to learn in and improve your skills as a first job. Located on a university campus so it's very comfortable with very fast internet. 24 hour office access.

    Cons

Reluctance to change mindset from thinking of themselves as a research group, into thinking of themselves as a business, causes them to run into hiccups in management that could be avoided. But the work environment is very pleasant so this is mostly ameliorated.

I have been working at Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation full-time for more than 3 years

        Pros

        1. Really nice people, stimulating scientific environment. 2. You contribute to the future of Australia. Your science has a positive impact on the lives of people. 3. Amazing HPC facilities, you have at your disposal hundreds of GPUs to play with. 4. Some flexibility in working hours (later/earlier in, later/earlier out). 5. Freedom and support to pursue your wildest science goals (are you up to the task?).

        Cons

        1. Some bureaucracy is there. It can't really slow you too much, but at times it feels unnecessary.
