I worked at ConnectWise full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

I worked for ConnectWise for about 5 1/2 years.. in Jan we parted ways and I wanted to share my experience. At the core of this organization is a desire to make businesses succeed. Period. If you look at this from the inside out you can start right there. This IS the company’s primary m.o and one of the reasons I loved working for them. I felt like I was actually making other people’s lives better and you could really...

Get a better DJ for the conference parties ;) I might know one!

    Advice to Management

Keep listening to what the RSM’s and BDM’s are telling you. They are almost always more realistically in tune.

I have been working at ConnectWise full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I’ve been with ConnectWise for over four years and am on my third team. A lot of the people who were here in the beginning, in the original office, are still around and thriving. The company is big on promoting from within and allowing colleagues to explore their career path at CW. I found this to be very valuable as I started while I was in my early twenties. Many of the employees are younger but even the seasoned vets...

    Cons

As is the case in the channel and technology as a whole, leadership is full of old white men. We need to do a better job of cultivating and hiring women and people of color. Say what you want about Arnie, but he doesn’t affect anyone’s day to day unless you’re in upper management. Pay could be better but a matching 401k and free breakfast and lunch offset that. The culture in the Tampa office is fragmented. Now that...

    Advice to Management

Continue to develop for new sales and not just existing partners. If we are going to preach these technology squares, the product teams need to follow through so we can sell to ALL of the squares.

I have been working at ConnectWise full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Free breakfast, free lunch, snacks and energy drinks. Two gyms. Fair pay. Amazing culture. Cool management that does not micromanage. The CEO truly cares about his employees.

    Cons

The corporate campus is spread out over 4 buildings. Sometimes walking to meetings can be a pain. Product management has a hard time hitting there delivery windows with new products.

    Advice to Management

Continue hiring the best and brightest and let them do their job. Continue building a great product and adding to the ecosystem.

I worked at ConnectWise full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Free lunch at select lunch cafes Lots of hoopla Great for breaking into the software industry Always keep your job even if you are not good at it Mistakes are looked at as learning opportunties and you will not get in trouble Friendly enviornment No micromanaging Realistic quotas

    Cons

-Does not promote based on performance -horrible compensation- not an equal opportunity employer -Promotes based on who you know and how hard you party -Management loves teacher's pet and an entourage -Leadership needs training, you cannot go from sales to mgmt or leadership without some training or experience. -Not treated fairly and they will take advantage of that, if they know they have you or think they have...

    Advice to Management

List is too long: Get some training mgmt and leadership training. Learn about HR as you all break the laws the states and the governemnt set. This will help protect the company too. Do not promote based on who you know rather than what you know (skill & talent). Allow those to prove themselves rather than promoting to better territories when they have a great closer to begin with or just a hot territory and it was...

I have been working at ConnectWise full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

almost all of the people here are really fantastic, even though they have already run off/pushed out a lot of the best ones who made the place great in the first place products are solid for the most part free (stale) bagels on fridays, free lunch and , casual dress code useless stock awards could come in handy if you need to build a fire, make a paper airplane, etc.

    Cons

management changes have completely tanked morale and the "culture" that ConnectWise still claims to have (they don't) running off good people who perform, reward a "rah-rah" mentality and "playing the game" more than performance pay is ok for some people, but not for many and is wildly inconsistent on the sales floor, with some reps making literally half of others regardless of seniority or how much they sell ...

    Advice to Management

My advice: bring Adam back. Since he probably knows this is a sinking ship, though, and wouldn't come back anyway, just try this instead: stop lying to people, treat/pay people fairly and equally, give your people the resources they need to do their jobs. Then leave them alone and get back to the culture where people actually wanted to come to work. You're running off people who could turn this place around and basically...

I have been working at ConnectWise full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-A great place to learn about the software industry and plenty of opportunity to grow into a career. -Phenomenal work/life balance and a lot of visibility to senior management. -If you work hard you will be rewarded commensurate with your performance. -Training for new hires can be improved. -Outdated equipment for senior employees. I have been working at ConnectWise full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Seeing the negative posts out there I wanted to share some of the good of the copany. the good: industry leader, we are the size of the our 2 largest competitors combined. We innovate and seem to stay a step a head of everyone else. We continue to grow and set new records every month and quarter. You can't fake that stuff. And for the haters - look at the dashboard! if you crush quota you can make a...

No place has no cons: Communication could absolutely be better. That's where a lot of the concerns are coming from. Approvals for ramps/pricing are out of control. Give back the power to your reps and managers. Let us negotiate and win deals without always having to go up to VP or COO. More flexibility on work from home. That would greatly increase loyalty. No reason why reps can't do 1 or 2 days a...

I have been working at ConnectWise full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Freedom to manage your own business is good. Products are competitive in industry at moment as long as they continue to invest in improvements

    Cons

Office is like middle school with inter office relationships. Sexual harassment issue for women. People are promoted who are known predators. Sales Management turns blind eye too issues that don't benefit them directly. Sales management "encourages" positive comments and sends emails telling people not to post negative comments here.

    Advice to Management

Reduce middle management. Too many middle management not providing any value to profits or pulse of what goes on on the floor or daily work environment of people.

Great company and culture. I've worked 4 or 5 places in my career and never found a place as unique and fun as Connectwise. It's demanding yet incredibly rewarding.
