I have been working at Coty full-time

    Pros

Multinational company with big growth potential due to integration with P&G Beauty. Excellent work-life balance and friendly colleagues. Free products -- perfumes, beauty products.

    Cons

Some jobs are currently being outsourced to Asian countries . Simplification of processes are still being pursued. a lot of manual processes which should be automated by technology.

I worked at Coty for more than a year

    Pros

I was working at Coty for 9 months prior to the P&G merger. It felt more like a collaborative environment at the time. The culture was good, for the most part, although disorganised.

    Cons

The moment P&G arrived, it was like a light switch turned off on the internal culture. Office politics exploded, ex P&G people came in and made demands, borderline bullied pre-merger Coty employees who were in support roles. I personally had 10 people from other departments trying to micro-manage me on an hourly basis. Collaborative attitudes disappeared and brands began to suffer. My hours got longer and longer and I struggled terribly, where before the merger I felt I was excelling in my role. We were in crisis mode with our biggest customers. The local handover of brands was atrocious. My reason for leaving was mainly the culture shift. I didn't enjoy working with people who no longer appreciated my work and who treated me poorly. The new General Manager didn't care about the people who work under him. He only cares about making $$$ and doesn't care who he needs to sacrifice to do it. The attitude "I don't care how you do it, just get it done" came about when he started his role. Prior to his appointment, there was a far more measured approach to business planning. Don't get me started on the Director of my department (pre-merger employee). They were aggressive, gloated about how everyone was "afraid" of them, but when push came to shove, this person was the biggest pushover in the company. One time they invited the entire team into their office and began to cry in front of us. They would complain about their job to everyone, openly and loudly in the office. Sometimes they would yell about it and use profanities. Totally unprofessional.

I worked at Coty full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Amazing Brands Health Benefits comparable to other similar companies 401K Company Car Bonus structure if YR is met Week after Christmas through New Years is off

    Cons

In field teams are not treated as NY office teams; respect, perks, time off, happy hours, breakfasts, lunches etc NY teams get 1/2 day off or full day off on Fridays during summer months. In field do not get same treatment Not in tune to field and challenges faced Unrealistic expectations Micromanaged and led by intimidation Constant concern if job will be around tomorrow. No job security Management of budgets that handicap field through cuts and constant reassessments of budgets. Unrealistic increases of goals and plans that can not be met No clear and accurate analysis of retails. Continuous inability to correct this even with analytics team in place Not fluid on companies performance. This is due to field constantly being mislead on low performance when company is turning around annual growth No opportunity to grow Favoritism to selected people for growth opportunities and not based on experience or ability to be great in role Work overshadows life balance Company has been a revolving door and has seen many amazing colleagues leave from original Coty and P&G merger due to reasons listed above.

I have been working at Coty full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Luxury brands are strong and has a wide suite of brands. The company has improved its corporate branding since the P&G merger. Multi-national employees which is great for diversity.

    Cons

Management is always comparing to L'Oreal but doesn't invest to drive internal excitement. There is also a lack of learning and development for new employees and I don't feel you will learn as much in COTY as other big FMCG as a young executive. Innovations are also not as interesting as competitors, slow developments of new products. Many issues with Supply Chain in the past 2 years across all brands. General lack of career development as well. Management is not well equipped to help mobility of employees. Women in leadership roles ratio can be improved. General lack of pride to work at Coty.

I worked at Coty full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I have none since this is a terrible workplace filled with arrogant people who stabs you in the back at every chance they get. They are so unwilling to change and would prefer not to hire people outside the company. Better for them to hire people directly from Uni that don’t have the guts or can think for themselves to challenge the behaviors. The company would need to do a rocade and get rid of 75% of the former condescending bullies from Coty & P&G! I questioned and wanted change, that was so unwelcome and at the end, me, the underdog in their eyes gave up and quit. Apparently that wasn’t ok either. They did not get the chance for the final word and they behaved like the angry dumped boyfriend!

    Cons

People roll their eyes at you in meetings, they badmouths colleagues that aren’t in the room and next time they praise the same colleague. You work 24/7 but are never recognized for what you do or for the resources you save for giving up your personal life for the company. You don’t get to know the products, you are generally not supported by your manager, all the 1on1’s seems like they just put on a show!

    I worked at Coty full-time

    Pros

My area manager & trainer we’re amazing throughout my employment with Coty/Max Factor. Coty took over MF from P&G and made a lot of promises which seemed very exciting at the time.

    Cons

Made the Max Factor makeup artists redundant with a very confusing and unclear “proposal” - most stressful few months of my life. Terrible communication from head office team - messed up our redundancy pay, ignored basically everyone
