    Negative Outlook

I worked at Cox Media Group full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Cox Enterprises was wonderful to work under and had fantastic benefits and a caring culture. The family clearly cares about its businesses and doing good in the world.

    Cons

CMG was in its prime when I started. The setup of the digital businesses were done in a way that harmed the company long term. Putting executives without digital experience and passion over and over again put the company behind and definitely killed innovation. I voluntarily left for another company after many years of frustration. I felt badly for the Cox family who put their trust and money with a team that failed them.

I have been working at Cox Media Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great benefits, lots of PTO, you can form great relationships with your clients.

    Cons

With new ownership under Apollo, lots of good employees nationally being laid off, our 401K match was reduced, expense accounts gone, sales goals doubled, and not much training or support. Typical investment firm, squeeze what you can in a short period of time & sell for more than what you paid.

I have been working at Cox Media Group part-time for less than a year

    Pros

The environment at CMG is incredible. I have learned so many new things that have given me the ability to produce much higher material across the board. I love the culture as well, everyone is so friendly at it feels like a big family.

    Cons

The hours for my position have been all over the place. Some weeks I will work the maximum allowed for part-time roles (29 hours), other weeks I will work as low as 4-5 hours. (This is pre-COVID, just FYI) Pay is quite low as well.
