I worked at Cox Media Group full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Generally speaking, the people are the best asset that Cox companies have. The culture is generally driven but not overbearing. Working for a major US market media company provides brand recognition.

    Cons

Long hours even with adequate project planning. Often, projects are over-scoped and under-staffed -- fourth-quarter pushes affecting work-life-balance do happen. Salaries are not competitive enough with market and pay increases based on the performance of the company and individuals are basically cost of living increases, not real wage increases based on merit.

I worked at Cox Media Group full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The people are at the core of this business no doubt! I worked at Kudzu.com and absolutely loved my job managing digital campaigns. The company has so much to offer like getting involved in outside activities within Cox as a whole, and there is so much room to grow. There is amazing work/life balance, great benefits, and the structure of the company is very organized and financially stable.

    Cons

    Nothing I can think of.

I worked at Cox Media Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Cool experiences Great people Great culture Benefits are really great

    Cons

Combines multiple roles and doesn’t pay what the effort is worth. They’ll leave you in this career purgatory for as long as they can manage. Management says they are transparent but it’s a facade. If you are looking to move up you will just assume more responsibilities and less work/life balance with no significant pay increase. Take the experience from here, which is only applicable to radio anyways, and take it elsewhere. They lose a lot of great talented people because of these cons. Upper management and corporate is very cliche-y and they only reach out and seem helpful when they need something from you.
