I have been working at Credit Union Australia full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

    - Salaries aren't bad - Throwing people under the bus will get you a promotion - The company throws members' money away for no good reason, so securing funding for projects is never too difficult

    Cons

This company is built on ego and that has made way for a culture of bullying. About two years ago this company was fairly modest and legitimately an okay place to work, but perhaps a little behind the times. A slew of recent hires in Head Office dating back to 2017/18 have made way for some incredibly scrupulous individuals with no sense of respect for those that put hard work in for this business. It absolutely astounds...

    Advice to Management

If you notice people are quick to throw others under the bus or speak poorly about others, you should be investigating those people for the TRUE problems that are now deep-rooted in this business. Reign in your employees and give a few people within the business a "come to Jesus moment" before its too late. These people ARE affecting your reputation and they WILL be the downfall of your business. CUA and particular...

I have been working at Credit Union Australia full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

People are great to work with with the exception of the Exec team buddies.

    Cons

Ceo and the executive team are inexperienced, inefficient, unproductive and cruel. Extreme greed. More then the retail banks. They say member focussed but what they really are is bonus focussed at the executive level. People and Culture enable a bullying workplace. Most of the positive reviews below are most likely written by a social media team trying to cover up how horrible this place is.

    Advice to Management

Bring in a new ceo with a new executive team. Get new execs with retail banking experience. For any employees considering coming to this company, it probably won’t be around for much longer as their financials are a mess. Honestly working at Pizza Hut would be more motivating and less dysfunctional!

    Pros

Great team with a supportive and collaborative culture. Diverse business which provides internal career opportunities to those who want it.

    Cons

Remuneration policy is to pay below market average. This contributes to a high staff turnover.

    Advice to Management

Reconsider remuneration policy to attract higher quality staff and retain the good performers.

    Cons

Some of the programs/technology is frustrating. But this is acknowledged and is being worked on.

I have been working at Credit Union Australia full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

CUA is genuinely working hard every day to transform into modern financial institution with simple and competitive products and they are doing this through their great culture. Members really are at the centre of the decisions they make. Work life balance is definitely achievable and leadership development and support is improving. They also strongly support their communities through volunteer leave and grant programs.

    Cons

None really - you will get out of it what you put in.
