      Don't Waste Your Career Here

      Pros

Discounts on food, entertainment and stays. The most magnificent Staff Canteen ever. Free food. Crown has a lot of programs to get you involved in community and socialising within Crown. Internal Promotion is highly valued. Majority of the Crown departments have lovely workers who help you. Fantastic pay and respect for staff that aren't management level.

      Cons

-Management are underpaid. Entry level staff paid better than us. This is something widely discussed between managers of departments. -Career over salary mentality. Expected to live and breathe Crown in order to excel. -No awesome work life balance like I was promised in my interview. Have worked every weekend and all public holidays. -No Crown management training or on-boarding. -Departments very liberal with file notes and will give for any little reason without sufficient evidence or logic. -Management/Supervisors are expected to work as a normal staff, plus do piles of paperwork. -Long hours 12+ no breaks. Only get paid for 7 hours/day. Senior managers illegally record less hours worked for their management team so they don't get fired. -Dealing with the Union and being over-analysed by them through staff.

      Wouldn't recommend

      Pros

Free food, laundered uniform, penalty rates

      Cons

Poor management, lack of communication between departments and within departments. Any changes take months to initiate, difficult to move up, very much run by a few people who bend rules and make life difficult for people who they dislike. Terrible food hygiene standards for food given to staff. Management does little to no visible work, little to no accountability for management. Has a 'it's not my department so it's not my responsibility' attitude that carries from management down to workers. As with many casinos I'm sure it is shift work that occurs 24/7 and in food and beverage there is no consistency to shifts and NO overtime. That is they will not let you do overtime despite other departments getting overtime. Absolutely no transparency to managent decisions, purposefully leaving staff members in the dark about management decisions and encouraging staff to 'dob eachother in' and then penilising all parties involved. Additionally there is rampant favouritism, particularly to people related to one another or persons in romantic relationships, incredibly unprofessional.

      Pros

Amazing people all around the business, free food every day as well as a complement of restaurants on site. Easy parking, relaxed atmosphere and it's open to everyone from any walk of life.

      Cons

Politics surrounding various inter-departments, very hazy when it comes to looking upwards and onwards besides your current position or a sideways movement. Whilst it's open to everyone regardless of race / religion / gender / orientation etc. it's definitely still too rigid in certain ways and whilst I can understand not going too far with things some of the appearance guidelines can seem outdated in this age.

      Pros

Free parking, free food, free uniform, work is relatively easy. Receive a break every hour. Pay is good when you work weekends due to penalty rates.

      Cons

Staff morale is very low due to numerous changes in the past years. Customers often treat you badly. Morale is not only low in gaming, very negative vibe and atmosphere at the casino
