Work here only if you are desperate or looking for a temp job

Pros

According to the Founders, you are fit to be in this company if you have the right attitude (which means being a yes man or brownoser), otherwise "you belong in a sewage organization!" - quote and unquote exact words by one of the Founders. Management is united on how badly employees are treated. Good talent don't last long here.

Cons

All the boxes that can make working here a most unpleasant experience gets ticked (stingy compensation aside, opinionated employees are not welcomed, employees are subjected to micromanaging and threats for leaving, you cannot leave the company, only the company gets to fire you - and this happens periodically!). Paints a beautiful picture to unsuspecting candidates during the interview but none of it is true nor will promises be held true. Management has no clue on how to run the company let alone keeping talent. Revenue generation is seriously lacking. Investors need to be forewarned.

We treat each employee as a co-pilot on our journey and we’ve embraced transparency in all our communications internal and external. We value people with high energy and drive, who can navigate and thrive in a nimble, responsive company. We sincerely regret that the poster had such a negative experience in 2015. Now, in 2017, we have matured as a company. Staff who have a “big picture” outlook, an understanding of the fast-shifting nature of ad tech and an openness towards change have stayed with us, some for over 10 years. We are open to dialogue and the opportunity to clarify our stance. The management embraces constructive feedback and listens to innovative ideas. We have rolled out comprehensive internal communication platforms and silo-breaking collaboration initiatives. Many of our recent developments have been driven from the bottom up, such as our career progression program and innovation-promoting activities like our hackathons. Best decision ever made was getting out

Pros

Knowing what to avoid in picking the next company to work for.

Cons

No actual product and this applies to the key 'tech' component of this charade so suffice the say, the rest was even less 'techy'. Sycophants and liars would thrive there. Talent and hard work mean getting used and abused slowly, like The boiling frog. Confused strategy, reality distortion field without anything of substance to back it up, questionable MO and every man for themselves in the sense that either they did not care about others or others had to protect themselves (by looking out). Stingy compensation and almost everyone was considered dispensable by the very CEO.

CtrlShift is the result of a merger of 3 disparate but complementary companies that took place in March 2015. We admit that our internal communications and corporate culture may have been less-than-ideal in the period following the merger (when this review was posted), when many merged companies struggle to integrate structures, processes and people. In 2017, we are now stronger, fully aligned and poised for growth. We’ve consolidated our business into three focus areas to drive innovation and support our mission to be a “global audience solutions” company, providing technology (www.thehub.co) to help brands communicate with their audiences backed by data science and supported with expert services. With a fully staffed leadership bench, we’re ready to expand beyond Asia but one thing will remain true: CtrlShift will always be nimble and every-ready to respond to the market’s needs. This is the type of entrepreneurial environment that may not be for everyone; it suits people who have a game-changer mindset, who are self-driven, execution-oriented and open minded. If you also understand the shifting nature of ad tech and digital advertising, and want to work for a company making ground-breaking disruptions to this industry, then you would be an ideal candidate. As a company, we are committed to helping our talent achieve their personal career objectives. A large proportion of our staff have stayed with us for close to 10 years - that’s considered significant especially in the ad tech world where 1-2 year tenures are the norm. Our remuneration packages are competitive in the marketplace. We’re happy to chat more: hereforyou@ctrlshift.com.

Transformation

Pros

After a year of turbulent and teething issues after the merger, CtrlShift has made a complete transformation to a clear positioning, new product suite and a fresh set of leaders from reputable global companies. Today, with its over 100 staff, they are on a path to creating a clear niche for themselves and a great culture. The new leaders are quickly establishing structures, processes and systems. The proprietary technology product built in-house is a force to reckon with in the global platform for adtech.

Cons

Not for those who're in for an easy ride. Loads of learning, hungry hunters and competitive spirit.
