I have been working at Danone North America full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Generous PTO, pay decent, good benefits. The culture used to be good but then Whitewave came along, now people are dropping left and right.

    Cons

Morale, politics, new org chart is too top heavy. It's pretty embarrassing when accounts even notice the heavy turnover. They still use Lotus Notes!

    Advice to Management

Get your stuff together and promote people who deserve it instead of 25 year olds who don't know what they're doing.

I have been working at Danone North America full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

PTO is based on years in the industry - not years with the company. Tends to recruit talent to do the job

    Cons

Culture is vindictive, lacks transparency, and the "must win" objectives shift and are often contradictory from one quarter to the next. 401K options have annually performed below industry average. High turnover. Short sighted - sales side is bonused quarterly and short term decisions are frequently made at the expense of long term sustainability. Uncertainty regarding layoffs with White Wave acquisition... currently resulting in lower productivity and morale among employees across the country.

    Advice to Management

Be more open with your employees and reward the ones doing work instead of the ones who flatter your egos.

I have been working at Danone North America

    Pros

Great Benefits, Unreal PTO, Great Product

    Cons

Breeds a very negative culture that has gotten worse over the last few years. The powers at be continuously put emotionally intelligent lacking people as managers(many are in with the "in crowd"). Very short sighted when it comes to what a successful employee is. Being rude and aggressive is tolerated where a team player type is looked at as a weak link and not a leader. This also breeds extreme competitiveness... and back stabbing as well for those that care about getting promoted. Do not expect to hear a congratulations or celebratory of wins. Expect to be asked what more can you do? Constant emails/phone calls after work hours and on weekends is the norm.

    Advice to Management

Start treating employees with respect not just as a number. Start developing people and managers. Just because someone is good strategist doesn't mean they should be managing. High Turnover costs you more than developing people or at the minimum start making the environment more positive.

I worked at Danone North America full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Excellent salary, fast paced Yogurt Category

    Cons

Watch out if you're over 50 at this company. You get to old and make too much money, you're replaced by a Millennial. Very little respect from the retailer trade. Foreign leadership have little clue of American business

    Advice to Management

Respect the "older" employees who brought this company to where you are today. Take the initiative to understand American business. If you are American in this company, you don't know anything about Yogurt even though you've sold it for over 10 years. This company was the place to enjoy a successful career until the foreigns took over. Not enough emphasis on core brands that fall by the wayside

I worked at Danone North America full-time

    Pros

    -Great benefits and good salary

    Cons

-Some managers are only looking out for themselves, very poor coaching and not a sense of a team - Poor communication at all levels; not recognition for any work done or in what direction to go - People that work hard and aren't highly "political" are often ignored or let go - Upper management does a poor job giving direction; there is never a clear idea on what the goal is - They preach CODE but very few people... follow it - Very few people can be trusted or feel like a teammate

    Advice to Management

Value the people that work hard and have potential for growth. There are too many people in higher management levels that not only take credit for what others do, but they also give no sense of direction to an entire team. The lack of communication and direction is truly weighing down the company. So many people with potential have left the company or were let go.
