Thank you for sharing your experience working at Dealertrack. It is great to hear that you had fun and enjoyed your time with us. Layoffs and changes in management are an unfortunate but necessary aspect of cultivating an agile, successful business in today's evolving automotive industry - we do not take these decisions lightly. Our team members are the backbone of Dealertrack and we appreciate everything they do. Thanks again! Kait Gavin Vice President & General Manager

I worked at Dealertrack full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Remote, ability to travel, and when i started the benefits were decent they have degraded over time.

    Cons

No sense of direction is given to you they suggest you work hard and figure it out, sink or swim after the 9 week training. Micromanagement on things that affect your work life balance but don't manage day to day work processes or expectations, When I started at DT recruiters and hiring management gave the appearance of great place to work everything is sunshine and rainbows. This was not the case. If you were lucky enough to work with a PM that was well liked by management, knew what they were doing and supported you, you could be very successful pending you put in the work and did it all yourself with little to no guidance. If you were put with a PM that management didn't like and they didn't do a good job. Then you would not be successful. This company picks its favorite people and if your in that crowd your life here will be great... you could do no wrong curse and yell at clients and other employees, throw things at clients and have no repercussions. However, if you do not fall into the "in" crowd they will make your life a living hell.

Thank you for your feedback. We value your opinion. Team members directly supporting our clients in this role are required to work on Mondays, to include Memorial Day, Labor Day, MLK Day, and other holidays traditionally celebrated on a Monday. This is so we can ensure business continuity for our clients. Please know that we are thankful for our team members and we are happy to offer generous PTO and volunteer policies to enable our team members to take time off as needed and also support their communities.

I have been working at Dealertrack full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great drive and focus in their suite of products. Business growth is amazing with raving fans garnished every day. Team members are helpful and always willing to share tribal knowledge to maximize productivity.

    Cons

Even though the business is growing promotional opportunities are very slime and movement in the company can be very hard when in field services on the road and notable to network with the internal staff. Heavy travel schedule because of the business growth leads to quick burnout in the field.

I have been working at Dealertrack full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The two stars are because I like Cox and what Cox has to offer. Dealertrack is in transition still. Travel Opportunities Cox Benefits - travel pay has improved since changing our travel schedule to match Cox Generally good people you get to work on when you're traveling

    Cons

Lack of diversity sensitivity/responsiveness in employees at all levels. People are promoted based on friendships rather than work competency, even when the person doesn't want a promotion. Since the acquisition, executive leadership has changed a lot. Middle management is the same. Middle management perpetuates the culture of gossip, cliques, and passive management styles. They choose to spend their time gossiping about people's gender/sexuality, what others do when they aren't working, and items happening in your HR file that you may not even know about. Middle management lies to executive management which discredits what subordinates say/complain about. Basically, if you're a remote employee, POC, sexual minority, and have an assertive work style (or any combination of at least two of those), you can expect to work in a hostile work environment where the discrimination is far more overt than any other corporate environment.
