I have been working at Digital Domain full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Digital Domain is a great place to work if you're a visual effects artist. You're paid well and compensated accordingly for your time.

    Cons

The management side is a little more frustrating. The hours are long and the pay is mediocre. There is a shortage of Production Assistants so you'll wind up having to do remedial production work in addition to Producer (and sometimes Exec Producer) responsibilities without additional compensation and/or overtime.

    Advice to Management

Be aware and responsive when you know people are being overworked or taking advantage of their personal time.

I have been working at Digital Domain full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The decision making is split well between locations, at least for software development. So it does not feel like one location is just at the whims of the other.

    Cons

The history of the company may give a bit of reason for hesitation but it seems that it is on a very good trajectory now.

    Advice to Management

More could be done to develop the culture of the company. More events and parties.

I worked at Digital Domain full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good benefits, good people, pay is average. Have time off when needed. I have no other pros. Training is horrible...run if they offer you a job

    Cons

Upper Management needs to learn how to manage or to speak to people. The HR staff is very unprofessional and blames others for their ethics issues.

    Advice to Management

Clean out your HR staff that needs more education on actual Human Resources. Horrible!! Worst place to work they don't even train you on the organization. All liars..

I worked at Digital Domain full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Lots of individuals with great talents. Had the opportunity to work on some big name projects.

    Cons

Management does not help employees to get promoted. There are also many false promises of promotions. This has been somewhat of a new culture that started recently with new management of the company. Almost every dept you talk to there are those who have been there for several year and want to move up but can’t. It’s who you know, not what you are capable of achieving. Sometimes individuals work very hard on projects...

    Advice to Management

Promote people by looking at performance and talent rather than politics. There are some people that are managers who don’t know how to be managers and should not be managers. Conduct an anonymous survey of all individuals of the company to see how they feel the company can improve. There may be some good tips.

I have been working at Digital Domain full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Friendly people who have great insights and are always eager to help, they have exciting projects, which always try to push the envelope. New Management has been brought in, and it's too early to judge, but the people that stayed seem to be making good decisions.

    Cons

Work (Space) conditions are dark and crowded due to the nature of the work, compositors / lighters need to be able to judge color. The location is in a crowded industrial area, and parking is a real problem.

    Advice to Management

    Move to another building
