I have been working at Dimension Data full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

No shortage of variety or opportunity to shine

    Cons

Prepare to work hard.... it is hard

    Advice to Management

Don't read half this crap...after 6 years here in Brisbane I can see who has written half this rubbish and the poor reviews connect directly to the poor performers who were removed from the company....good luck at Data 3 you idiot... I hope the door smacks you in the face on the way out. Maybe you should have focused more on the job and less on the politics and you would still be working here...

I worked at Dimension Data full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work from home, Flexibility, Online Training modules, some really good dedicated staff that make the business run.

    Cons

Heavy management without a clear direction, Privileges for some staff if you are in with the boys club, The business needs to value all employees, overworked, undervalued, expected to work huge hours at times, huge turnover of staff in the branch but management aren’t doing anything to change the culture and retain good quality staff members, it is seen that management value friends within the branch and promote them even though they are not preforming in roles. Office environment and layout is stale, boring and uninspiring. Senior Management absent and not engaging if you are no value to them.

    Advice to Management

Value all your employees or you will continue to loose great dedicated staff and be known in the market place as the place that people don't want to work.

I worked at Dimension Data full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - few people level managers are great to get along with
    - there are a few people in the business are easy to get along with

    Cons

    - slow career progression
    - a male dominated environment
    - does not listen to the needs of their employees, as they focus on money driven tactics
    - profit > integrity
    - with profit being largely in their goals, the remuneration for all employees is greatly lacking
    - lack of company culture, friday afternoon drinks is not a form of company culture
    - the high level managers are unapproachable, full of themselves, big headed, lack of people skills
    - the CEO is not present, does not any of his employees, will only interact with the high level managers

    Advice to Management

Start to create a culture within the company that would attract employees to stay. It is an ageing company, lack of young people. Young people are the future, and if you continue to only attract older males, your culture and your company will be greatly outdated. You will no longer have curious young business driven individuals wanting to apply for a job. No one knows the name Dimension Data, get out there for everyone to understand what you do.

Start to celebrate things as a company as a whole. Departments celebrating separately makes it feel disconnected and people become unknown to one another. Celebrate diversity, woman's day, Easter, mother's day, father's day.
