Very Fun, Positive Place to Work

Pros

Leadership is very forthcoming and transparent, which is especially helpful in these COVID times. The teams are really into mentorship, so it's a good place to grow. There seems to be a positive career trajectory. As a whole, it's filled with grounded, genuinely nice people, no attitudes. It's a fun place to work, a great office in the financial district, and we are moving into a new one when it's safe to go back to an office environment. Unlimited PTO, I work from home regularly and it's not a problem. Good pay, great health benefits. Overall I'm very happy so far.

Cons

It's a start-up, so no bonus structure, they offer good Pre-IPO equity though.

Pros

The team is all very close. Lunches are communal and the company pays for your lunch as long as you eat it at the office, which is nice. People tend to actually socialize in the office. The founders are all pretty nice and down to earth. No 24 year old developer running a company, which is nice. The product is good and lots of people use it. Huge customer base, which is especially nice for sales and marketing. Management treats people fairly and tries to keep the whole company in the loop on major decisions. Big focus on values. People seem to really care about them, which is nice. They're not just decorations here.

Cons

Growth isn't super fast, so not as many advancement opportunities as some other companies that are in hypergrowth. Management tries to keep everyone in the loop, but sometimes I don't feel fully informed. I was hoping to work on bigger deals, but there aren't as many as I expected. It's a great place to learn sales or advance your career, but not really the right place to learn enterprise sales.

Pros

I have learned a lot in my time at DocSend that has helped to shape my career development. If you're eager to be surrounded by super smart people, dive into a fast-paced environment and get involved with a lot of diverse projects cross-functionally, I'd recommend applying. There's collaboration top-down and everyone is super open to helping and teaching one another. The People Ops team is the best I have worked with in my career and they genuinely have your best interests at heart.

Cons

Stress levels are pretty high, as expected at a tech startup. So long as you ask the right questions during your interviews about the day-to-day responsibilities and set expectations for how you're looking to contribute, you shouldn't have problems. You have to be very upfront about your needs and wants, because management is moving very quickly and they rarely have time to stop and ask if your needs are being met from a long-term growth perspective.
