AIG offers a fast paced, challenging environment where no two days are the same. The Finance team has been engaged in many process improvement initiatives designed to "lift & shift" work from legacy systems and processes to low cost service centers and onto the SAP platform.
Cons
Aggressive expense reduction efforts and a desire to meet accelerated short term incentive targets have driven major headcount reductions and a focus on near term results. There are still many inefficient legacy systems and processes, manned by fewer experts. Finance teams are expected to work on quarterly reporting and strategic projects simultaneously, while meeting senior management's desire to issue financials faster each quarter. The culture is very competitive and political.
