Pros

The only pro is when the owners are out of town and not in the office, which is fairly often.

Cons

Where do I begin? - The owners of Add Black have absolutely no investment in their employees. - There is no room for growth and the company does not do annual reviews of any kind. - They hire and fire people without any consideration for the employees whatsoever. They clearly do not know how to manage their financials, hence the hiring and firing. - The healthcare and benefits are definitely lacking (there is no dental or vision and their regular coverage is very limited). - The owner is extremely micro-managing and difficult to work with. She shows up late everyday and sometimes just doesn't come to the meeting that she scheduled, not to mention a meeting that makes you work 12-14 hour days, then just skips it. - They care more about taking lavish 'shopping' trips to Europe, Australia and South America more than taking care of their employees and making sure they can actually afford to keep the employees they hire. - Every project and assignment is thrown together last minute so each team is working until 10pm or weekends to finish before a sales/design meeting.

Pros

The company attracts talented people and offers opportunities to constantly tackle unexpected challenges. The work can be engaging and fast-paced for those who thrive in highly demanding environments.

Cons

Leadership communication can at times come across as dismissive or lacking empathy. Employees with differing perspectives may not always feel heard or valued, which can make it difficult to raise concerns or have productive disagreements. The culture places a heavy emphasis on performance and output, often at the expense of work-life balance and employee well-being. Expectations can feel unclear, and support during challenging periods may be limited. Based on conversations within the industry and my own experience, the company appears to face ongoing challenges with attracting and retaining talent. This may be worth discussing during the interview process.
