Pros

-I will never feel as depressed as when I was working here ever again -I will enjoy reading all the stories in the news when the DFS investigates this place in earnest -I gained some lifelong friends that act as a support group and provide free therapy as we all hate this place beyond what words can describe

Cons

The COO and the "deputy" COO (aka the brown-nosing conman) have no idea how anything works and only want people to appeal to their egos. Everything they say is either stupid or illegal (usually both). If we paid them to sit in a room and do nothing but toss a ball against the wall, the business would actually improve. That being said, the business is basically a government-mandated monopoly so the leadership exhibits gross incompetence without consequence. Also, everyone in the company's upper echelons are related to, or friends of, 3 main families. Other things: Bad pay, bad benefits (13 PTOs a year), almost no room for growth (I say this as one of the people actually repeatedly promoted - most people will not be), high turnover, most of the skills you learn are not transferable, they will try to force you to do overtime if you're in no-fault, every department is basically a career dead end,

Pros

Work from home, boss is extremely nice, gives a lot of freedom and independence, but helps you grow as well. We are staff attorneys under American Transit Insurance Company and represent their interests in automotive insurance claims. As a side note recent articles about ATIC being insolvent were highly inaccurate and have been operating business as usual since these articles were released.

Cons

The work from home aspect is great but can be frustrating because attorneys do not have settlement authority and have to go through claims adjusters in order to settle. It can be difficult or impossible to reach an adjuster when you need one, even as a fellow employee. This reputation is well known regarding ATIC around the court system and among other attorneys, who often express frustration in terms not only of reaching a settlement, but in even getting answers or calls back from our office.
