Pros

The willingness to teach young professionals about how the business operates and how to grow as both a person and professional. The team members at Arkema are great and bring a small company feel to a multinational corporation. Many perks to a good work life balance i.e. on site picnics with live music and informative personal health meetings.

Cons

Decision making ultimately was France-centric which was hindering progress of abroad operations. Some aspects of technology availability/usage within the company were outdated.

Thanks for your comment. Indeed, decision-making comes from France, most of the time, as the Executive Comitee is based near Paris. Nevertheless, all the decisions are taken with the insights of industrial directors based in the country we operate in. We are not taking decision on the spot, without any knowledge of what is happening on the field. About Talent Management, we created a Talent Program in 2015 to give managers who are early in their careers a chance to spend several years in Arkema subsidiaries outside their home countries, as an exciting opportunity to gain unmatched, engrossing international work experience. A stimulating boost to a career, this immersion in Arkema’s international operations is an asset to move up the ladder!

Pros

Great people Great opportunities Willing to give more responsibility/grow Good work life balance while also still having good drive at work

Cons

Not a lot of cons, everyone is very understanding and the small office could be a downside for resources, but personally did not find that to be an issue

Pros

Site Culture Global specialty materials strategy has proven to be quite good

Cons

Resource constraints. But this is quite common in chemicals/specialty materials these days from what I hear.
