Pros

You can work from home and there’s no micro-management. They give you the flexibility to fit work into your lifestyle. Many of my co-workers could complete the school run without issue.

Cons

No leadership. Business needs active leaders to drive the strategy. Half the staff have secondary incomes from projects outside of work. BiGDUG need to hire some talented digital leaders if it wants to achieve it’s long term goals.

We are sorry to hear that you found encountered any levels of unacceptable stress. We make it clear to all colleagues that as well as management they can reach out to HR or our Employee Assistance Programme for support. We believe our company strategy is clear and regularly communicated - it is the growth of all brands. We cannot comment on broken promises but please feel free to reach out to HR to discuss so we can understand where we fell short

Pros

People on the ground doing the work

Cons

Employed to manage a team and implement changes/improvements but controlling manager would not allow this. Micromanaged, negative feedback on all suggestions. Even had a suggestion list which was filled in, told that the list wasn’t for that ( for suggestions) controlling. Made huge strides with the team, employee satisfaction survey showed a huge improvement. I got a well done from HR, but my management did not acknowledge this in any way. Manager had no people skills or empathy, her words, yet didn’t allow me to do my job. She talked the talk and was very good at that! Also had an history of firing people who didn’t fit in with ‘her’ vision, ie had a brain and wanted to make positive impact by treating the team like people not robots. Hybrid working but new staff forced to go in more than staff already there, this caused tension and affected morale in the team. Manager couldn’t understand why. Avoid finance if you value your mental health!
