Pros

Opportunities to grow quickly working on interesting projects, for some people working from home is a pro, experienced leadership

Cons

No culture, no diversity . I do not believe there is real intention to change this - please consider this red flag if you do not belong to the very specific demographic this firm is comprised of

Blue Ridge Partners Response

We fully recognize that our firm, like most firms in our industry, needs to do more to create diversity in our organization. We are actively taking steps to address this. For example: (1) we have formed a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, led by our Managing Partner and with the external help of two highly experienced women with BCG backgrounds, which is looking at diversity across all our functions and culture; (2) we conducted a full Employee Engagement Survey and hired a third party to analyze and present the findings to our entire firm; (3) we have already implemented seven initiatives as a result of the firm survey aimed at better meeting the needs of our team. We are excited about this progress. We wish you the best in your endeavors.

Pros

* Peers / leaders with top-tier (MBB) consulting AND line management backgrounds, which makes a huge difference to our clients and our consultants' learning opportunities * Outstanding reputation in the Private Equity world. If you're thinking about going into PE via consulting, you'll want to bang on this door * Minimal travel, much better work-life balance than most other consulting firms (although this is still high-end consulting, not 9-5!) * Leadership who truly cares about developing the people; we are a family, and we stick together in good times and bad (e.g., no layoffs when Covid hit the business hard) * Best feedback culture I've ever seen (including three Fortune 500 firms) - highly structured, clear set of expectations, culture of regular feedback. If you want to grow, this is the place to do it * It is extremely unlikely you'll be the smartest person here - you will learn a LOT

Cons

* Typical small firm disadvantages - pricier health insurance, we don't have the fancy intranet sites of a Fortune 500, less name recognition (outside of Private Equity) than the "big guys" (although within PE, we've very well known) * We all work from home (when not in 2x/year firm meetings or at client sites - again, travel is minimum), which some people don't like as much, as we don't see each other in person as they might like

Pros

1. The integrity, capabilities, and competence of the key leaders is world class 2. The culture, drive, and commitment of the entire firm is top notch; even though it isn't a partnership, it truly feels like one; BRP is a meritocracy 3. The work, generally, is very interesting, important, and high impact 4. There are excellent career options to advance at BRP, or "graduate" into great PE and/or operating roles 5. Blue Ridge Partners is a great firm to be an alumnus of

Cons

Based on the nature of the work and clients, the work load can be intense sometimes; there are ways to balance and manage, and you learn to do this over time and with good team problem solving, communication, and leadership
