Pros

The staff are great and love working with them co-workers are passionate about what they do.

Cons

Lots of fellow employees are leaving due to leadership. Leadership is toxic they treat people like they are second class citizens no empathy for employees, very hierarchical under new leadership. Most of the of staff are now afraid to speak out as one leader in particular bad mouths employees that do not agree with him. FLT is aware of the issues with this person but been getting worse over past 2 years.

Pros

Hybrid work environment, half-day Fridays The benefits are very competitive

Cons

Extremely difficult work environment Extremely high turnover of staff - staff frequently disappear from the organization and then a "We wish them well with their future endeavours email is sent out" One department has toxic leadership which needs to be addressed Strategy is communicated in such a siloed and ambiguous way that staff are unclear of which direction they should be focusing Training and development are seen as a perk of the job and are awarded based on a personal relationships. Micromanage staff

Pros

Great mission, doing incredible work in the community.

Cons

New Leadership changes have been quite negative. What was previously an open, authentic, values driven and collaborative environment under the old CEO is now very closed, hierarchical and verges on toxic with certain leaders. Leadership is a black box. Expect lots of leadership theatre with lip service to values, but they do not walk the talk. They do not receive or value employee input and institutional knowledge. Many do not feel safe working there or in expressing their opinions and ideas. Though there's lots of talk about "succession", there is also no opportunities for internal advancement. Open positions are always sourced externally. As the saying goes, people don't leave bad jobs, they leave bad leaders.
