Pros
Full of talented, kind people, but many of them are frustrated and leaving or being let go without warning. If you want to work in cannabis or on fun work with zero strategy and leadership, I think this actually could be a good place to grow. But I've noticed that people, including me, believe there's a "Caliva Bait and Switch" in terms of hiring promises vs reality.
Cons
From my observations, the CEO Dennis O'Malley is disruptive in a literal way. He walks around the office and asks for random large projects to be done quickly. I've seen several people roll their eyes behind his back and I think I was aligned with most of the company in a complete lack of faith in his leadership. He appears to be a yeller, not a strategic thinker. As my manger said, "Don't worry about anything Dennis asks for, he'll forget it by tomorrow." Caliva is a wildly dysfunctional place. You will not be treated well here. Pay and benefits are not competitive in the Bay Area whatsoever.
