Carbon Steel Inspection

Is this your company?

I was employed with C.S.I. and was offered very little opportunity for advancement. - NDE Field Service Technician Carbon Steel Inspection Employee Review

Pros

The pay seemed to be about average or slightly above for the industry. Employees were generally competent though many times, with the combination of travel and long hours, avoidable mistakes were made.

Cons

I continually witnessed inattention to safety. Those charged with overseeing safety and job hazard analysis were not qualified or competent to serve. C.S.I. works primarily in the oil, petrochemical and, power generation industries. Much of the work that they do requires working in confined space.

Pros

Everyone was very professional about their work. Jobs weren't just done, they were done the right way. Managers were very fair and would step up and lend a helping hand whenever needed. The projects I worked on were used company wide, which gave me a great feeling of satisfaction.

Cons

Employees are required to travel semi-frequently. In my time with the company, I traveled to cities in: California, Texas, Kentucky, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania.

Pros

Driven. Well managed but for the issue referred to below.

Cons

Technical training and advancment opportunity lacking particularly for those without a background in either electrical or, mechanical engineering. An poor understanding of hazardous conditions with regard to static body positioning and repetetive stress, by those charged with safety oversight has and can in the future lead to cumulative joint injuries.
