Pros

Good compensation, company sponsored happy hours every Friday. Metro accessible.

Cons

If you're being contacted for a recruiting opportunity at Celerity avoid it like the plague! Celerity does offer very attractive compensation plans for most of their recruiters however what they don't tell you is that it is nearly impossible to make a placement. Many of the reqs. that they are working on are long shots or proposal based....which you don't make commission on. On top of that Celerity really struggles with their identity. They like to claim that they are a high end consulting firm focused on the "digital economy" (whatever that means) however almost all of their clients are just looking for them to sling bodies. Also they are using an ATS called JobDiva which is archaic and extremely difficult to source from. Don't count on being able to make any placements using that as your main source. Also some of the people I interacted with were down right hostile and very resistant to providing any kind of advice or assistance as to how to be successful. Combine all of that with hiring managers that view the recruiting department as a complete failure and you have the perfect combination to create a recruiting department that acts as a revolving door. Over the last 6 months one of the teams has seen 6 recruiters turn in their notice (not good considering the team is made up of 5 recruiters).

Thanks for your candor. Over the past 2 years Celerity has been working hard to transition from mainly staffing focused to a digital consulting organization, so the confusion around how we operate and what we do isn’t surprising and we recognize that it’s a slow and sometimes unclear message for our consultants. And, how we align our recruiting team with our changing requisitions and go-to-market approach has been an evolving process as well. We feel strongly that we’re now getting to a place where our recruiters are better focused and aligned with the business needs and goals of the hiring managers. We’ve broken down silos between areas of the business and the recruiting team is much more in sync to cover all of our recruiting needs as a team. As a result – better ability to fill open roles, which yields better teamwork with the hiring managers, which yields happier recruiters and a better business result overall. All of this is evolving but it’s moving in the right direction. We also continue to build on the tools we have, including enhancing our ATS functionality and utilization, and continue to innovate on our sourcing methodologies. We hardly have the mystery of perfect recruiting unlocked but we’re taking the steps in the right direction. Thanks again for the feedback.
