Pros

Smart team with a lot of talent and a fun environment to work in. Strong product with the potential to make a big difference in the market. The CEO does not follow your typical Silicon Valley arrogant stereotype. He is a genuinely nice person who cares about the people who work for him, but can also make difficult decisions to move the organization forward. The new leadership team has a lot of passion and experience to take the company to the next level and the team is already having a positive impact on culture. Do not shy away from the company due to some of the vocal negativity of disgruntled former employees.

Cons

Recent (and overdue) changes in the leadership team have resulted in a few disgruntled employees and reviews, but the company is already seeing the positive effects of these changes.

Pros

Free lunch. Well stocked kitchen. Awesome co-workers. Short work days. Unlimited vacation. Note to self, take more advantage of that unlimited vacation!

Cons

One huge con. The CEO. He has absolutely no business being in charge of a lemonade stand and yet here he finds himself at the head of a company. He has no idea what to do and in fact, rather than using his own product to analyze the market opportunity he's continued to drive towards his outdated and misguided vision. His big concern seem to be if anyone likes him or not. He does internal NPS only to find out no one would recommend this place to their friends. If you don't like him you apparently get fired. The sad truth is based on that qualification he probably needs to fire 90% of us. The market Chartio is in is far too competitive to have someone with such a fragile ego, no leadership skills nor creative ideas on where to go next. The rest of the negative reviews here are spot on as well.

Thanks for the feedback. As a company, we did a lot of work this year in creating our core values. Two key ones are “Be one (weird) team” and “Foster productive conversations.” Your feedback is tough to share, with both of these values in mind I would encourage you to do so with more specifics in person with me, your manager, or our anonymous feedback portal. I appreciate you taking the time to leave a review here and I wanted to address a couple of the specific concerns. As Chartio has entered a new stage of growth, we had to transition to a new culture that will help us continue growing and making a difference in the market while still having fun doing so. But as part of this transition, we also had to make some hard decisions and go through certain leadership changes. I understand that not everyone agreed with these actions, but sometimes the right decisions are not the easy ones. What I am seeing is that the vast majority of our employees are behind our vision & strategy, are embracing our new culture and are proud to be working on a product that is winning industry awards and stands out in customer satisfaction. But no matter how much progress we’ve made, we never ever cease to learn and better ourselves. I take our employee NPS surveys very seriously. I always love to have a conversation at any time with any employee to hear their thoughts on strategy, data discovery, values, or culture. I lend an open ear and mind and share as well what I’ve discovered and planned. We may not see eye to eye, and I of course can’t promise to change our direction, but at the very least we’ll have both learned more, fostered a productive conversation and can hopefully work better together as one team.
