Leaders and upper management are NOT concerned with hearing from or helping out entry/lower level employees. If you aren't on board with every single thing they do (even if they are terrible ideas or awful for the team), you are seen as negative or difficult and aren't allowed any upward mobility. I worked on part of a team that was VERY knowledgeable and hard-working and we were not valued at all. Even when we gave management the tools they needed to keep everyone on the team, they hardly listened and kept making empty promises around promotions, etc. Others on my team were fired or let go for the most incomprehensible reasons, bringing the entire morale of the team down and causing our overall ability to provide a quality service to clients almost impossible. Management that was hired on to 'elevate' the team came in with little to no relevant experience and ended up making the entire situation worse, choosing to push their work off to others, not training new team members, and just downright not doing their jobs at all. As an overall team we were expected to deliver high level results with NO resources and then were always reprimanded internally and externally for not delivering good enough results. It always felt like we were running on a hamster wheel with no resources, no appreciation, and no effort to allow us to advance in our careers. Positions were paid WELL below market value and many team members left for MUCH more compensation, further proving that we were paid under fair value. The whole credo of the company is 'own your own success' but that should come with a caveat of 'if you know the right people' or 'if you are on the right team'. I worked on multiple occasions to advance my career by my own initiative but was met with dead ends, no advancement, or just no interest from upper management to even help me along in the process.
