Pros

Pay is good, some flexibility, remote work allowed somewhat

Cons

Site management needs a reboot. Seems to not have direction. Too few employees lead to lost productivity. Pay is good but workers are treated poorly. Operators and technicians run the plants and due to poor treatment, Clariant loses too many. Line management is good but overruled frequently by site management. Too many times subject matter experts are ignored by site management also.

Pros

Great exposure to real plant operations and how engineering work impacts reliability, quality, and downtime. Hands-on troubleshooting opportunities—good place to build structured problem-solving skills. Strong process documentation environment (P&IDs/SOPs/LOTO), which helps you learn disciplined engineering practices. Projects feel practical and meaningful, not just “intern work.”

Cons

Learning curve: There’s a lot to learn early on (systems, standards, plant terminology), so the first few weeks can feel information-heavy.
