Cons
You need to enjoy a small business atmosphere
Pros
- A team of lovely, fun, talented people who are a joy to work with. You feel part of a big diverse family and build lasting friendships. - It’s a growing, fast moving business so there’s plentiful opportunity for personal growth, to challenge yourself, and to pick up new skills. - You get the experience and benefits of working in a tight-knit team, whilst also partnering with some of the largest organisations in the UK which is an incredible learning experience. - The company has a powerful mission and delivers inspiring, impactful pieces of work so no matter what your role you feel like you’re making a positive difference and doing good. - The office is lovely and located right by Borough Market. There’s a great buzz, at lunch you’re spoilt for choice, and the office roof terrace in summer is a dream!
Cons
- It’s important to do amazing work but this can sometimes lead to a strive for perfection and looking for someone to blame when things go wrong. - The internal team is quite top heavy by design which can bring difficulties (e.g. different leadership styles and approaches which can send mixed messages, lots of incoming work but too few project managers).
Pros
- There are some wonderful, talented people in the business, who made it a privilege to go to work. - The company carry out projects that have an impact, the consultancy work was always to a high standard. - Some really talented, inspiring individuals.
Cons
- The same wonderful people who I had the pleasure to work with are restricted by managers who seem intent on making their lives as difficult as possible. - The staff are treated like they are an unwanted necessity - disposable and easily replaceable. Created a real lack of motivation. - While the company undertake organisational development work in other organisations, they do not use these same methods in their own business. - Leadership is at a premium, seem to be highly reactive in decision making, with no real foresight or vision. - The business is extremely top heavy in terms of senior management - too many egos, and not enough leaders making decisons for the good of the business.
