Small, family-owned business - Account Executive Confluent Strategies Employee Review

Pros

Confluent Strategies doesn't hesitate spend money wining, dining and entertaining customers and employees, particularly its sales team. In 2021, the CEO took a group of male of employees on a company-paid hunting trip while the CRO took a group of female employees on a company-paid beach vacation.

Cons

Confluent Strategies is an Equifax sales agent; it sells Equifax products and services exclusively to Equifax customers in designated markets. Those with credit bureau experience may enjoy working with this small, tight-knit team. The "family" atmosphere is quaint, but cliques, favorites and nepotism are there, just below the surface. I was an Acct Exec at Equifax for several years and was accustomed to the incentive and bonus structure there. While CS brought me in at a higher base salary, its incentive structure is much tighter, and my annual income took a big hit.

Pros

They did have good benefits packages. Health insurance starts on the date of employment.

Cons

Communication is terrible. They will tell you what you want to hear and make you feel valued but have absolutely no follow through. If you are in a department that isn't making them money, they don't care about you and will not give you things and staff that is required to execute your duties. As a result, you will work over time without proper compensation and when you ask for help they revert back to "well it's been working fine up to this point." They are big on nepotism and giving out leadership roles to their children without the necessary experience required for the job and then protect them above all other staff. At one point there was a snow storm and the local government was begging people to stay home and off the roads because there were so many accidents that emergency response units couldn't get to those who needed help. Staff was told that they were expected to be in the office and if they did not feel safe coming in, they would be required to use their own PTO.
