Pros

There are some very nice people working here that will go out of their way to help you. Some willingness to help you work a flexible schedule.

Cons

Management is all over the place. Account reps have no accountability. They do not review positions or reach out to hiring managers to discuss positions before giving to recruiters... result is that recruiters may start working a position only to find out later that hiring manager needed something different or there was an extra little skill that would set a candidate apart. Recruiters get almost NO feedback on candidates. They do not know how to prioritize positions, leaving blob of positions for recruiters to sort out. Recruiters time is sucked up doing administrative tasks that need to be assigned to administrative assistants. They really need someone dedicated to formatting resumes and completing submittals. IT side of recruiting house has been neglected and mis-managed. Management touts “quality” but then dings recruiters if they don’t call enough people. Why would you call someone who is not qualified? Metrics is a bad way to manage. Candidate database is terrible. With this combined mess it is amazing that any recruiter can function. You will be lucky to place one person a month.

DataStaff Response

DataStaff is committed to creating a professional, transparent and collaborative environment for all our employees, so we are incredibly disappointed to hear about your experience. We value and consider all feedback, and we will continue to find ways to improve, but we wanted to address a few of your specific concerns. First, we agree, we do have a lot of great people that work within our organization attempting to make a difference, and this makes DataStaff one of the best companies in the Triangle. We do try to create a superior work-life balance and offer flexible schedules among other positive employee benefits. The Executive Management team has been in place since DataStaff's inception in 1998. Our management style has remained strong, and we have been fortunate to have great success and been on the receiving end of numerous awards. We do agree that we would like our Account Representatives to have a complete, fixed requirement from our clients without adding or changing specifications, but given the fluid nature of the staffing industry, this is not always possible. Our Account Representatives work hard to have an open dialogue for feedback with our client-site hiring managers. However, we understand this can still be improved. Recently we have taken positive steps to increase this communication/feedback. DataStafff employes recruiting support that assists in the following areas: formatting resumes, sourcing candidates, submitting candidates, scheduling interviews, and checking references. We are sorry that these efforts did not meet your expectations. Metrics are critical to any business. However, we do not manage merely by metrics alone. We are in the staffing and recruiting industry which is driven by numbers, therefore it is essential to capture the data. DataStaff is built on hard work and has had many accomplishments over the years. We are committed to providing a fun and progressive workplace. Most importantly, we value direct communication where problems can be discussed and resolved in a mutually respectful atmosphere. We firmly believe that with open discussion, we can address any difficulties that arise and develop a mutually beneficial relationship that will continue to move DataStaff in a positive direction.
