      There's a great team in place there now. The organization is doing good work. There are few organizations in the prison reform field that are both connected to impacted communities and competent in creating impact.

      Cons

      Previous leadership (after departure of Van Jones) exhibited poor financial and organizational management, resulting in layoffs for 75% of staff. However, those individuals are gone now.

      Pros

      While my time at EBC was brief, the team is amazing and gave me so many opportunities - I felt that it was a great environment and high satisfaction from the full time staff, and deeply connected to the community they serve

      A really incredible opportunity to learn about public policy and organizing in the criminal legal system from and with directly impacted people! Would absolutely recommend.
