Business outlook
Pros
Light hours, creative environment, nice place for aspiring writers to get some experience. Decent pay for staff columnist and freelancers. Staff writers and photographers attend free events. The overall company mission and what is stands for is inspiring. The owner is accessible - very hands on and supportive.
Cons
Small business with limited hours and benefits. Very hard to get a full time position. Not enough staff writers, the competition to get a regular column is pretty strong. Tough deadlines - if you miss your deadline just once you may not get a call back!
