Great environment and very flexible. Even though I am remote the team connectedness is good. FEI has good work-life balance, which is excellent being in the helping profession. The mission of the organization should not be overlooked. It is a full social enterprise that supports a nonprofit. Rewarding work while supporting a good cause, who can beat that!

Pay and compensation is low.

The position allows counselors to help people who might not otherwise seek counseling, but who may be struggling, which is fulfilling.

This for-profit employer has serious cash flow and ethical problems. The company pays licensed professionals $15k below their market worth, which creates a constant revolving door with staff. The focus is on recruitment rather than retention. The company actively recruits minorities, and greatly underpays them, which continues the cycle of poverty. For all the talk about diversity and inclusion, leadership is all white men. Employees pay for parking, training and all expenses related to work remotely.
