Pros
GHD, in my opinion, is a fascinating place to learn how the consulting industry works. There are some incredibly talented technical people within GHD, and if you position yourself correctly you can do well .
Cons
The technical ability of "Technical Directors" should be questioned. And there should be a transparent process to that. GHD is certainly trying to address transparency issues recently, but they have a long way to go and is questionable whether they're going about it the right way. It has quickly become a 'shareholder vs workforce' mentality. During 2020, much like most businesses, there were unprecedented cutbacks. One such cutback at GHD was confiscating/taking every employee's time in lieu, with two weeks notice, because of "COVID". Whilst I agree there was an awful lot of global financial uncertainty, I still don't agree - at all - with this approach. It essentially comes down to stealing hours and money from the lowest earners of the company (majority field staff) and then posting great financial positions and dividends the following months. There's a lot of things that just aren't quite adding up (insert "hmmmm" emoji).
