Pros
The people you work with are the best part of the job. I largely had a degree of freedom to deliver and architect the platform, this is a blessing and a curse. There were opportunities to experiment with new tools and technologies to help deliver results.
Cons
Upper management is overly focused on a single Salesforce project, often at the expense of other critical initiatives. The company is bleeding talented engineers, contractors are brought in via cronyism. Pay rises and promotions are rare, if they happen at all. Engineering has been reduced to a skeleton crew after layoffs and poor retention; new starters leaving within a month is becoming common. Leadership in key roles is questionable, with a lack of relevant experience. Contractor reliance has been highly wasteful and in many cases worsened existing issues.
