I worked at HSBC Holdings full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    Decent benefits, comparable pay scales

    Cons

Individual managers in Compliance are disengaged from their employees as persons. Also, when the layoffs roll around (every three months), older employees are almost exclusively those shown the door. It amazes me that there hasn’t been a lawsuit. It’s also nigh impossible for a middle aged woman to live up the ladder, even with year over year outstanding performance reviews.

I have been working at HSBC Holdings full-time

    Pros

Great culture and managment. Good career prospects but you have to make them on your own.

    Cons

Vertically run business. Lack of autonomy outside of Head Office and regional management
