I have been working at Holiday Inn Club Vacations full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Great benefits and good experience

    Cons

There is favoritism. Management frowns on college education. They believe you must work for years to move up and college education is irrelevant. Managers do not have college education and do not know how to deal with employees. They are closed minded to innovatative ideas. Loyal employees who have been with the company for years leave because there is no opportunity to move up.

    Advice to Management

Get a college education. Take care of your loyal employees. Your wasting company training employees who leave to company. Be receptive to innovated ideas. Encourage and stop bullying your co-workers.

I have been working at Holiday Inn Club Vacations full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The people are great and easy to work with.

    Cons

Schedule: Your schedule is created monthly and it fluctuates dependent on business needs. Some days you might have evening shifts, some day you might have closing shifts. One month you might have Monday's and Tuesday's off, the next month might be Tuesday's and Wednesday's off. Any transition between a change means you will have to work 6 days in a row. If you are a closing shift, you leave when the employer allows... you to, which could be hours after your scheduled time. If you want t o request time off, you need to do it 2 months in advance. The only guaranteed holiday off is Christmas day. Employer does not make concessions for school and with the fluctuating schedule, it is impossible to register for classes. Lunch and break times are only 1 person at a time and dependent on how busy it is, so you'll never know when you will get to eat. Lunch is only 30 minutes. Advancement: barren. There's only a few people above you, so no real room for growth. If you're hired as a closing shift, it could take up to a year or more to move to evening or morning shift, and that's really only if someone else transfers or quits.

    Advice to Management

Hire more employees so lunch and break times can be at set times. Put employees first instead of your pocket by allowing at least the standard holidays off and for closing shift employees to leave at a scheduled time.
