Pros
The people are amazing, and help each other out. The creative output is great, and those energies are almost always encouraged! The owner is always investing into the company, and there's a real drive for projects and sales. The projects are often fun, and involve a lot of different disciplines. Reasonable compensation and benefits packages for the area. Pretty much everyone at the company is a great person - upper management and owner included.
Cons
There was a real lack of hierarchy, with the few who had "manager" status frequently being overruled or having the carpet pulled out by upper management. I have seen some pretty shocked faces coming out of management meetings... Upper management also frequently got involved in project management and even project-level work, which very rarely led to smooth or true success. Micromanaging is a serious issue. Ideum seemed to have a high turnover rate, with some of these problems frequently discussed prior to an employees' voluntary departure.
