Pros
I met and worked with some very nice people. I learned a lot at the national Nationwide Insurance workshops. However, I don't think I learned anything worthwhile when I worked at the actual Iscential agency.
Cons
It has a very cold and negative atmosphere, which myself and other employees picked up on the minute we walked into the reception area. Employees are treated like kindergartners. There was high employee turnover; the entire time I was there (over a year) 17 employees came and went. Some employees even got up and walked out of there as they couldn't stand it anymore. The owners hire or promote "managers" who have no clue how to effectively lead, train, motivate, or manage employees, so the "Peter Principle" reigns supreme at this agency. Pay rates and raises are a joke. Yet, the owners continually scratched their heads and acted puzzled as to why their employee retention was so low and their unemployment insurance premiums were so high.
