Pros

Exposure to many different areas of manufacturing that you wouldn't get without working in consulting of some form.

Cons

When I was there, management seemed to be a revolving door which made everybody downstream have to sift through information to do a decent job.

Pros

A very deep and diverse skill set for a multi-discipline engineering firm. A strong, team-oriented culture that starts at the top levels of leadership down to new hires and engineers. For a consulting firm with a wide range of active and potential customers, there is abundant work to go around.

Cons

During occasional dry spells between billable projects, management provides training opportunities to close the rare gaps between projects while actively pursuing billable work to keep you engaged with a project team. New employees at the Cincinnati office will likely need to pay for parking, which Jedson provides a discounted rate at a garage within 1 block of the main entrance.

Pros

The company has an incredible community. Everyone from nearly every office works together and coordinates to be able to efficiently perform their duties. The in-office atmosphere is also very good. Leadership really cares about employees and have been taking on the brunt of cost increases for insurance premiums that went up this year, and is always looking into ways to make the quality of life better with work/life balance. 401k contribution is typical. Health insurance is excellent. Pay is well above average for structural in my area, but no regular bonuses (however even without bonuses the pay is better than other firms with bonuses).

Cons

The company has been growing very quickly over the last few years. As such there's some growing pains with project delegation, figuring out management and figuring out standard processes. However Jedson has been dedicated to resolving the issues quickly and it shows.
