    I have been working at Localsearch full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    I love a company that wants to grow and evolve for the right reasons. Who trust in their good stuff to get the job done but can also have fun too. I am someone who loves change and learning new things - so this fast paced environment is exciting - as soon as I walked in the door I felt home. I have learnt more in my role in 12 months then I did in 10 years in my last role.

    Cons

    I don’t sleep well as I am always thinking about what we can do next.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what we’re doing and stop and celebrate the wins when we can.

    I have been working at Localsearch full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    I joined Localsearch less than a year ago - and let me tell you - all of these positive reviews are true! It's a great place to work. I came from an unrelated industry with no digital marketing experience (apart from the usual - Facebook, Instagram accounts etc) I was hired, because I love people, I love helping people and LS want people who want to help our customers navigate the complex world of digital. I am so... grateful that LS didn't see my lack of digital knowledge as a disadvantage. Why? Because they have a room full of experts who teach me every day! I brought my personality, my thirst for learning and my customer focus. And as they say, the rest is history :) Culture? Well, culture is everyone's responsibility. I don't hold Localsearch responsible for babysitting me through my career. I'm an adult and it's up to me, to decide whether I want to encourage a positive workplace or a toxic one. I choose positive. It's working out great, so far :)

    Some of the downsides of working at Localsearch? Every company who is developing and growing will experience pain. Sometimes we run too fast, sometimes not fast enough. Sometimes, we expect more than we should. I'd say it's pretty normal and while you can sometimes feel like a deer in the headlights, it's refreshing and reassuring to know that the main attitude is "Let's work together to get on the same page" I've... heard first-hand when executives have put their hands up and said "We made an error there, let's fix it and learn from it" I've never felt like my contribution doesn't matter in some way. I've never felt like I didn't matter. The mistakes are part of the journey and everyone works together to do better next time.

    Advice to Management

    Negative feedback means we are succeeding because it's so rare, that toxic people have no other outlet than online forums to hide behind instead of growing a pair and having a conversation, which I know each and every Lead, Manager and Executive would be happy to have an explore improvements. The 80/20 rule is more like 95/5 at Localsearch, that's something to celebrate!

    Some colleagues who are good people and make the daily grind fun. Good location, close to Robina town centre

    Cons

    As mentioned above, this company is all about it’s fake surface level appearance, but in reality it doesn’t care about any of its staff. Any time a negative review is posted on this website, 2-3 positive reviews appear within a day or two. It doesn’t take a genius to see that they are posting fake positive reviews, to cover up any negatives. This is a clear indication of a company that is trying to deceive... potential employees. Whilst the company has some positives, it has some really bad eggs in management (mainly the customer service leaders), who are ruining the company. These same people can be heard mocking employees in the office, every time one of these reviews is posted. I believe that this has also been done in recently posted reviews. Whilst this initially seems childish, it is a clear example of the team managers idea of how to deal with current problems. They would rather try to suppress and belittle anyone who gives an honest opinion, instead of listening to staff and fixing problems. Unfortunately I agree that we have lost plenty of people who were supposed to help us as we switch to becoming a digital marketing company. Instead we are left with a few “leaders” who talk big, but never deliver. There are far too many Department managers, who only care about how they appear to the Directors and actively hide all of the problems that are really going on.

    Advice to Management

    First of all, don’t post fake positive reviews, to try and cover up any negatives. Talk to your training/HR staff who loudly mock anyone who voices any negative opinions. Don’t take your Department Managers reports as pure fact. Listen to your staff members who are aren’t afraid to tell you the truth. These people are not just “complaining”, they want to tell you how to fix the companies’ problems. Lastly.......please talk to whoever posted the recent positive reviews and tell them NOT to write comments that try to mock any negative reviewers. It is a very poor tactic and makes the company look completely unprofessional.

While we are striving to manage our own internal change as efficiently as we can, some of us occasionally drop the ball when it comes to detecting grievances and concerns among our staff. We want everyone in our business to feel free to provide honest feedback, and to be heard. We can then make important adjustments on our end, and continue to grow and improve in the ways we need to. While we don't agree at all that "this company is fake", we do understand that it's not uncommon in any business for employees and managers to not always see eye-to-eye, and sometimes experience friction with one another. We can confidently say that each of the positive reviews about Localsearch on this platform are genuine, and the true sentiment of the reviewers, regardless of the when they were composed. While I'm not sure why someone who feels like they work for a "fake" company would choose to continue to work for that same company, we'd invite you to come have a private and confidential chat with any of the leadership team anytime, with no fear of recourse to yourself.
