Pros

Benefits are amazing. You'll never find benefits this good at another job. People are cool to work with. Overall more laid back culture than you'd find at a profit hungry company. Also a gigantic hospital with endless opportunities. Largest private employer in NYC.

Cons

No glaring cons. Some people say pay. But when you factor in the benefits, the total compensation more than makes up for the still competitive wages in my opinion.

I have been working at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital (More than a year)

    Pros

the 1199 health insurance is great

    Cons

Many many things are against regulation. Not a very clean atmosphere. The upper management won't pay for anesthesia carts that even lock. These carts hold many many medications that need to be locked up. Other supplies have no place to go so they sit out in the operating rooms on make shift carts. Blood splatter often encounters these supplies. Its totally disgusting. Upper management simply doesn't care about all the infractions and un safe conditions they are causing for patients.

    I worked at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital part-time

    Pros

convenient location, close to subways. fun people in the office to work with. dr is really funny and down to earth. able to play music as you work

    Cons

can be disorganized. scheduling work hours proves difficult at times. when working front desk, you don't leave at a reasonable hour always. some days i worked until 10pm.

    Advice to Management

Be more organized and efficient. create schedules that are easily accessed by staff to make scheduling more effieince. make last patient in the earlier hours so that staff goes hhome at a reasonable time
