Pros
As a 3-month video contractor, I loved my time at NextThought. Part of that was the pay, which motivated me to put in long hours sometimes (I worked 20 days in a row during the busiest part of the contract!). Mainly, though, it was the work environment that made me love the work so much. The food bar is always well stocked with dozens of different drinks and snacks. Nobody is looking over your shoulder or ordering you around, probably because they only hire people who want to work. Casual chatting and joking across desks is an everyday occurrence. At the same time, the employees are very knowledgable and willing to give you tips to help you work more efficiently. If you possess self-motivation, design sense, and an easygoing sense of humor, you can probably do well at NextThought.
Cons
The workload can fluctuate wildly (at least in video). Some weeks are very relaxed, and you're working steadily towards a known deadline. Other times you're rushing towards a deadline and working nights. The good news is, management is very good at not placing blame on employees and is improving at keeping the workload under control/being communicative. I never felt personally attacked or put upon during my time there.
