Pros
The person that organizes BIM, he is great.
Cons
The firm is NOT people positive. The Executive Management Team (EMT) is the group at the top that makes all the decisions. The decision making is reactive verses responsive. This translates to triage for every project and places an unnecessary burden on the production staff. This way of thinking creates turnover, burnout and inefficiency. The entire focus is on how much money the company loses. What they fail to understand is that profitability is related to a happy workforce, efficiently staffed projects and working resourcefully not overtime. The next issue is the lack of transparency. The firm does not provide a safe environment for its staff to be honest. EMT lacks the courage to face discomfort about negative feedback or be open to solutions from experienced architects that have worked at many other firms. Instead that person either is removed or there is no follow through with the information. This creates fear. EMT seeks opinions and suggestions only from people that have been only at Novus. It is a regurgitation of an archaic way of thinking and there is no room for growth, investment in training, or willingness on their part to be uncomfortable enough to grow and change for the better because that takes time and EMT is only interested in short cuts.
