Pros

- passionate group of people who care deeply about the mission of helping people find love - lots of empowerment and autonomy. My team and I set our goals based on the company mission and vision. Its up to us to figure out how best to make that a reality. I am trusted to be an expert in my field and appreciate the ability to do what I do best without micromanagement. - insane assortment of snacks. I did not know there were this many types of snack foods. no joke. - really smart group of people. there is a very high bar to work at OkCupid, which keeps things really intellectually stimulating. - small team where everyone knows each other on a first name basis and gets along well. we are too small to have office politics. we all have to work together to get stuff done. - we have tons of company events and parties like lobster cruise around NYC or bowling nights or beer tasting events. - comp is competitive and promotions and career development are important to leadership. - free lunch. we have it catered 3 days a week and also have a budget to order our own food from seamless. Very cool. - diverse and inclusive. we have people from all types of backgrounds and orientations. - great perks including being able to expense your personal dates! - very few meetings.

Cons

- My commute is a bit rough coming into the city. - we use slack a lot to communicate. this is great for efficiency, but can be distracting. I prefer to speak with my team in person.

Pros

Was nice while it lasted

Cons

Team that used to work here was completely dissolved, and the application thrown out. Today the app is a thin skin over ancient, junk tech, in an effort to maximize profit for their owner, dating-app monopolist and serial privacy-violator Match Group
