Pros
I really enjoyed working at Prime Studio. I was offered the internship based on a specific experience to help on a specific project, but was able to join in on a variety of projects over the course of 2 months. What I liked the most was that I felt like all the designers treated me as a colleague rather than an intern - but at the same time, they were there to help me and teach me new things whenever the opportunity presented itself. Prime Studio is a great learning environment; They gave me a diverse range of tasks and assignments because they wanted me to have a well-rounded experience. I worked on sketching, prototyping, research, consumer surveys, packaging, and technical drawings. They also encouraged me to document my work whenever appropriate, so that I can take away something from the internship. Another Benefit of working at Prime Studio was the hours. They rarely asked me to work beyond 5:30 PM, and in many cases encouraged me to leave on time. The company culture is very family-like and close-knit; not noisy, but not completely silent either. I would certainly recommend an internship at Prime Studio to other people.
Cons
- If you don't like using the Apple Magic Mouse, bring your own mouse. - At times it may seem like you're jumping between many different tasks and projects(small and big) quite frequently, but I thought it was a good experience to learn how to juggle multiple things thrown onto your plate.
