Pros

Always fun to see technology being literally pushed to the limit to support the vision of its founder. Hadoop clusters humming 24/7, real-time analytics and growing customer demand are driving the move to the cloud and multi-tenancy. NoSQL and Spark are next on the horizon. When a company believes and invests in innovative technology it makes it for a good day at the office. A plus when there's great people who work well together. It's refreshing to see a politics-free environment where everyone is only interested in GSD.

Cons

There's pain in early-adoption and that can make for long hours at the office. If you're looking for a 9-5 without a steep learning curve, this is probably not the place for you.

Pros

The company is a great group of people to work with. There's a big emphasis on finding the right fit in new hires. The environment is generally fun and collaborative but requires a significant amount of self-motivation. The technology and services provided by the company to its clients are truly valuable, and are likely to drive where the industry is heading in the future. The business model is compelling and the application of the analytics will change much more than simple display ads. Currently, the company is at a crucial inflection point, so the opportunities are available for those who can take on the challenge.

Cons

The lean team is great for fostering a tight knit group, but requires everyone to have fingers in many pots. As such, the learning curve is very steep and requires a good degree of intuition and the ability to pick up quickly. The company offers high performance analytics, and similarly expects consistently high performance of its employees. Like any start-up mentality, it doesn't matter how you get it done, as long as it gets done. This affords leeway in how employees can work, but ultimately will lead to some longer days and work to be done over the weekend. The work is plenty and fast paced. Employees need to manage their time effectively and have tough skin. These challenges could be the greatest draw for the right people.
